Description

With the default LinHES /etc/ntp.conf file in place I cannot sync my mbe to a time server. I noticed my recordings were beginninnnng to start a little late than usual, so I checked the ntp.conf file on my debian workstation and could confirm with the command ntpdq -pn that it's receiving sync. I then copied my debian ntp.conf over to LinHES (adjusting paths as needed) and now my mbe can sync to a time server. Working ntp.conf is attached.

looks like pool.ntp.org is no longer responding.

Updated by mihanson about 15 years ago

Response is fine with ntpdate... [root@mythbox-mbe ~]# sv stop ntpd ok: down: ntpd: 0s, normally up [root@mythbox-mbe ~]# ntpdate pool.ntp.org 28 Jan 12:16:20 ntpdate[7629]: adjust time server 64.71.163.201 offset 0.095194 sec

Is this still an issue?

Updated by mihanson about 15 years ago

The stock linhes ntp.conf does not work (for me), but the ntp.conf.linhes.new I originally attached does.

Switched to a slightly modified version of the npt.conf file that was attached.
This will be used for MBE and Standalone configuration.
FE and SBE will still point to the the DBHOST
